Used Rack Buyback in Central PA

Harrisburg Pallet Racking buys used pallet racking and surplus warehouse rack from businesses closing, relocating, downsizing, or upgrading anywhere in Dauphin, Cumberland, York, Lebanon and Franklin counties. We come to your facility, assess the system, and make a fair written offer on the spot — then handle all disassembly, removal, and transport ourselves, so you are not managing a demolition crew against a lease deadline. Central PA sees constant distribution-tenant turnover along I-81 and I-83, and clearing a building on a hard date is routine work for us rather than an exception. Rack that is structurally sound goes into our inspected inventory; anything that fails ANSI/RMI criteria goes to scrap rather than back into service. If you are buying a replacement system from us, the buyback is credited against it and the whole thing runs as one project.

  • Turn unused or surplus racking into immediate cash for your business
  • Eliminate the cost and complexity of rack removal and disposal
  • Hit a lease-end or closure deadline without hiring a demolition contractor
  • Offset the cost of a replacement system on the same project

// How it works

The process

01

Tell Us What You Have

Send photos plus an approximate component count and system type. Beam lengths, upright heights, and the manufacturer if you know it all help. We give a preliminary response quickly from that alone.

02

On-Site Assessment

We visit your facility, evaluate condition and quantity against ANSI/RMI criteria, identify which components are resalable, and provide a firm written offer — usually same-day.

03

Agreement & Scheduling

Once you accept, we schedule disassembly and removal around your operations and your lease or closure date, including nights and weekends where a live operation cannot spare the downtime.

When Rack Buyback Makes Sense

  • Closing or consolidating a Central PA facility and needing the building cleared fast
  • Relocating and finding the existing system does not fit the new footprint
  • Upgrading to a denser system and needing the outgoing rack gone
  • A lease turnover clause requiring the floor returned clear
  • Surplus rows left over after a reconfiguration, sitting idle and taking floor space
  • A defense or contract program ending and the storage no longer being needed

Used Rack Buyback questions

01

Do you buy surplus rack from businesses closing or relocating in Central PA?

Yes. We actively buy selective, drive-in, cantilever, push-back, and pallet flow systems throughout Central PA — Harrisburg, Carlisle, York, Lebanon, Chambersburg and the surrounding counties. We come on-site, evaluate the system, and provide a firm written offer — usually same-day. If we buy, our crew handles full disassembly, removal, and transport. You do not touch a single tool.

02

How much is my used pallet racking worth?

Value depends on system type, component condition, quantity, and how standardized the line is — selective teardrop from a major manufacturer resells readily, while proprietary or discontinued systems are worth less because fewer buyers can use them. Quantity matters more than most sellers expect: a complete system in one building is worth considerably more per component than the same steel scattered across partial rows. We give a firm written number after an on-site look, not a range over the phone.

03

What condition does rack need to be in for you to buy it?

It needs to be structurally sound. Surface rust, scuffs, and paint damage are cosmetic and do not disqualify a system. Bent or twisted uprights, damaged base plates, torn beam connectors, and structural corrosion do — those components fail ANSI/RMI criteria and cannot be resold safely, so they go to scrap rather than into inventory. We will tell you honestly which parts of your system fall into which category.

04

Who handles disassembly and removal?

We do, entirely. Our crews disassemble, band and palletize components, load, and transport — and we leave the floor swept. That is deliberate: rack teardown is the point where most damage happens, and damaged components are worth nothing to either of us. It also means you are not coordinating a separate demolition contractor against a lease deadline.

05

How fast can you clear a building?

For a typical Central PA warehouse we can usually be on-site within days and clear a building in under a week once scheduled. Lease-end and facility-closure timelines drive most of these projects, so tell us the hard date up front and we will work backward from it. Payment is processed on completion.

06

Will you buy rack if I am buying a replacement system from you?

Yes, and that is the most common version of this. If you are upgrading or reconfiguring, we can buy the outgoing system and supply the replacement — new or inspected used — in one coordinated project, which usually means one crew, one schedule, and the buyback credited against the new system.
